Our Green Campus
Sowing the Seeds for a Greener Future.
The University of Illinois Chicago is committed to advancing the sustainability of its daily operations. Students, faculty, and staff can experience UIC's work toward environmental and social responsibility simply by taking a walk across campus; our energy-efficient buildings, recycling program, bicycle parking, stormwater management strategies, educational initiatives, and research efforts all contribute to the vision of a carbon-neutral university we hope to realize one day.
Giving to Growing Green for UIC-identified funds will only accelerate progress toward this vision; donors can feel proud knowing their donation will work to create a safe, equitable, and responsible environment for students to live, work, and study at.
While campus experts work to improve our campus, take a look at the video below to learn about some of UIC's recent sustainability successes! See if you can spot improvements we made that support our UIC Climate Commitments – goals that will help us become a Carbon Neutral, a Zero Waste, Net Zero Water and Biodiverse campus by 2050.
